My Story
A Lifetime of Sport, Coaching and Development
Sport has been part of my life from an early age. I began gymnastics at eight years old with Croydon Gymnastics Club. During secondary school, I represented my school through rugby, cross-country and athletics and occasionally supported the cricket team.
I come from a family with a strong sporting and coaching tradition. My father’s sporting journey began while he was living in Guyana, where he was selected for Guyana’s second national team and also competed in fencing. His example helped shape my own respect for discipline, commitment and continual development.
I was introduced to archery through the Scouts and developed a lasting love for the sport. I later became an Archery GB coach, supporting archers as they develop their technique, confidence and performance.
At seventeen, I began martial arts after my brother encouraged me to join him. What started as a new sporting interest became a lifelong journey of training, teaching, leadership and personal development. Today, I run my own martial arts association and continue to help students of different ages and abilities build confidence, discipline and skill.
These experiences have shown me that meaningful progress is rarely achieved by simply telling people what to do. Effective coaching involves understanding the individual, recognising the barriers they face and helping them develop realistic strategies that support steady, sustainable improvement.
Through Health Matters UK, I bring together my experience of sport, coaching, performance and behaviour change to help people understand their habits, develop confidence and move towards better long-term health.
What I Bring to Health Matters UK
My contribution to Health Matters UK combines decades of coaching and leadership experience with an understanding of performance, behaviour change, nutrition and sustainable personal development.
Coaching Experience
Through martial arts, archery and wider sport, I have supported people of different ages and abilities as they develop skills, overcome barriers and work towards meaningful goals.
Behaviour Change
Lasting change requires more than information. I help people recognise patterns, identify practical barriers and develop realistic strategies that can become part of everyday life.
Performance and Mindset
I help people understand how confidence, focus, motivation, routines and personal beliefs can affect their performance, wellbeing and ability to make progress.
Structured, Practical Support
My approach combines clear goals, consistent guidance and accountability while recognising that every person begins from a different place and progresses at their own pace.
Qualifications & Professional Development
I am committed to continued learning across sport, coaching, performance, nutrition, health and holistic wellbeing. This broad background helps me understand how physical, psychological and lifestyle factors can influence an individual’s progress.

How I Work With You
I believe people deserve to feel heard, respected and involved in decisions about their own health and wellbeing.
Understand Your Starting Point
We begin by exploring your goals, current habits, experiences and the practical challenges that may be affecting your progress.
Create a Clear Structure
I help you turn broad goals into realistic actions, using practical strategies, manageable steps and consistent support.
Identify the Barriers
Together, we look at patterns, beliefs, routines and circumstances that may be making change more difficult or preventing you from moving forward.
Review and Adapt
Progress is not always a straight line. We review what is working, learn from setbacks and adjust the approach as your circumstances and confidence develop.
Beyond My Work
Beyond Health Matters UK, I am a husband, father and grandfather. Family is central to my life and has taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, adaptability and supporting people as individuals.
Martial arts and archery remain significant parts of my life. Through both disciplines, I continue to teach, coach and learn while helping others develop confidence, skill and self-belief.
I believe that progress should be challenging but achievable. Whether someone is improving their health, changing a habit or developing their performance, my role is to help them understand where they are, recognise what may be holding them back and build a realistic path forward.
